MEDGAR EVERS COLLEGE COMPETES AT 2014 CUNYAC CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPSPublished by
Bronx, NY- The Men's and Women's Cross Country teams competed at the 2014 CUNYAC Cross Country Championships presented by the Army ROTC at the historic Van Cortlandt Park. The Women's race was a 6k (3.1 miler) and featured 89 student-athletes. Maria Gronau (Baruch) won the race with a time of 25:03.8. Hunter College won the team competition with 34pts. Medgar Evers College finished in 10th Overall (9th amongst the Senior Colleges). The top Cougar was Freshman Rasheedah Rhymer finished in 64th place. In the Men's Race, it was an 8k (5.1 miler) featuring 80 student-athletes. The College of Staten Island won the team competition with 63pts. The winner of the race was John Pollina of Lehman College, with a time of 27:40.1. The top Cougar was Freshman Hicham Hamsi, who finished in 20th place, with a time of 31:35.8.
