COUGARS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM COMPETES AT CSI INVITATIONAL

Bronx, NY- The Medgar Evers College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams competed in the 2014 College of Staten Island Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park. In the Women's Race, it was a 5k race (3.1 miles). The race featured 162 student-athletes from 19 different schools. Six Senior Colleges in CUNYAC competed in the race (CSI, Baruch, Lehman, Brooklyn, York, and Medgar Evers College). The Cougars finished in 19th place with 549pts. The winner of the race was Jennaya Hield (Essex County Community College). The top Cougars runner was Freshman Rasheeda Rhymey. Rhymey finished in 122nd place with a time of 30:58.5. In the Men's Race, which was also a 5k (3.1 miles), featured 173 student-athletes,from 21 colleges.Three Senior Colleges in CUNYAC competed in the race (Lehman, Brooklyn, and Medgar Evers College). The Cougars finished in Tied for 17th place with 470pts. MacLean O'Donnell (The New School) won the race with a time of 16:26. The top Cougar was Freshman Hicham Hamsi finished in 54th place with 19:29.9. Here is how both teams finished.
