MEDGAR EVERS TRACK ATTENDS PRESTIGOUS GALAPublished by
New York, NY- On Monday March 10, 2014, the Medgar Evers College Men's and Women's Track and Field team attended the 24th Anniversary Awards Gala sponsored by the International Athletic Association Inc. (IAA) held at the famous Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan, NY earlier tonight. The highlight of the night, was Jamaican Sprinter and Summer Olympian Usain bolt, winning the Jesse Owens International Athlete Trophy. The award is given to one that shows greatness in their sport, and is charitable in his work. Prior the dinner, the Medgar Evers Student-Athletes attended a seminar hosted by Summer Olympian Gold Medalist Dr. Charles L. Jenkins and his son and fellow Summer Olympian Charles L. Jenkins, Jr. They spoke about competing against others and being clean, natural and nothing that will alter one's body. They enforced how to win with integrity, both in sports and in life.
